Crib Partnership Program A crib for her baby is one of our client's greatest needs, as well as one that may be beyond her means. Because PHD can no longer distribute used cribs due to safety regulations, we have developed our Crib Partnership Program to partner with our clients to make new cribs available at a reduced price. Gracious donors contribute funds to the program with which we purchase new cribs. A client may purchase a crib by making payments during pregnancy totalling $75, approximately half the cost of the crib. When the client has paid the $75, she receives a new crib, and a mattress, if available. The client's payment goes back into the crib fund. New crib mattresses are a welcome donation to complete the new cribs. Baby & Maternity Closet Voucher Program PHD's Baby & Maternity Closet was established to assist clients with the practical needs of pregnancy and baby care. Clients receive a layette for their babies in the eighth month of pregnancy. Clients may visit the Baby Closet each month for an emergency supply of food, formula and diapers. Every other month, clients may receive clothing by using the Baby Closet Voucher. The Voucher is a tangible way of offering clients hope that their present situaion can improve by providing resources, guidance and support for making changes through education and counseling services at PHD and in the community. |
