The tide is
turning and research shows that over 50% of high school students are
choosing to abstain from sex. This is not an easy choice when
media, entertainment, and peer boasting would have them believe that
"everyone's doing it." To assist teens in processing their own
values regarding sexual involvement, PHD offers Sexual Readiness
Counseling to assess how it fits their image of themselves, the
potential emotional and physical risks, and the impact of consequences
on future goals.
If a teen
chooses to postpone sex, Abstinence Counseling can assist in building
refusal skills, learning how to build healthy relationships, and the
role of sex in intimacy.
